Notes from a Diary, 2009 ongoing Oil on canvas installation
The project came to be as a response to the artist's poor note taking habits and a desire to return to the physical making and doing. Each "note" is fashioned from canvas, primed and prepared to appear to like scrap paper, and painted with traditional oils. It is a laborious task that results in a finished product that appears to be worth less that the sum of its parts. It is a comment on the value of art.
It is an intensely personal project that reveals imperfect unfinished thoughts. It exposes the artistic process and presents that very process as the finished piece.
